Responsibility

  • install and assemble iron or steel beams, columns, and other structural components according to blueprints and specifications
  • use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components
  • erect and dismantle scaffolding, cranes, and other temporary structures
  • perform heavy lifting and carrying of materials and equipment
  • assist in the installation of reinforcing steel bars for concrete construction
  • work at heights, including on roofs, to install or repair structural components
  • follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment to ensure a safe work environment
