Requirements
- appropriate safeguarding training
- specific training on working with babies
- at least 1 year’s experience in a similar role
- excellent communication skills – with parents/carers, children and colleagues
- experience of working with children under 2
- understanding the varied needs of children and their families
- sound knowledge of child protection
- to be flexible and adaptable in work
Responsibility
- promoting and supporting team work
- occasional cover for the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager
- supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager in projects affecting the wider Nursery setting
- supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager in projects affecting the wider Daycare setting
- assisting with staff inductions and helping new staff settle into the setting
- assisting with staff inductions and helping new staff settle into the daycare setting
- the Baby Room Leader must at all times ensure that only designated staff administer medication
- working in partnership with the Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursey Manager and other Practitioners to ensure the daily running and administration of the daycare setting, adhering to policies and procedures and compliance with the Children's Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the National Standards
