key Responsibilities
plan and architect reliable embedded software development lifecycle processes
maintain and support field operators' and engineering teams’ user interfaces
manage automated software build, test, and deploy procedures using continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices
the Senior Software Embedded Engineer will own, develop, and maintain embedded software of uncrewed underwater vehicles. Act as a Principal Engineer / Technical Lead to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with the hardware and operations teams
deploy software to be used across hundreds of UUVs and other marine vehicles using modern cloud architecture principles
manage expectations with the direct reporting manager and ship software within agreed timelines
Requirements
bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or in a similar engineering discipline
masters or Phd specialising in one or more topics relevant to Internet of Things embedded systems and/or robotics
deep understanding of real-time operating systems on embedded microcontroller systems
experience shipping software products to customers
experience with STM32 microcontrollers and ARM Cortex-embedded Linux environments
experience implementing drivers and applications using embedded systems communication protocols
experience building command-and-control software for autonomous vehicles, robots, or mission-critical systems
experience with a version control system
