Responsibility

  • blue Ventures is seeking a Social Media Manager to coordinate the strategy, delivery, and measurement of our social media communications
  • blue Ventures is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead our social media communications' strategy, delivery, and measurement globally
  • this is a permanent, full-time role based in any of BV's registered locations
  • you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of all social media channels and for creating and producing engaging content to be used across them and beyond
  • reporting to the Head of Communications, and working closely with our Advocacy, Donor Stewardship and Partnerships teams, as well as national and regional leads, this will be a 1-year fixed term role , based in any BV’s registered locations
  • you’ll be responsible for managing all social media channels and creating and producing engaging content to be used across them and beyond
  • whether it’s shaping and amplifying stories from communities and partners, sharing our learning far and wide, or crafting content to advocate for ocean protection and the rights of small-scale fishers, you’ll be proactive in finding creative ways to connect with and inspire a range of audiences internationally
  • you'll report to the Head of Communications and work closely with our Advocacy, Donor Stewardship, and Partnerships teams, as well as national and regional communicators and country leads

Responsibility

  • we are currently recruiting a Software Developer to support our evolving operations, supporting our Global Data Science team
  • you will focus on creating user-friendly, customisable tools to support decision-making in small-scale fishing communities and across the organisation
  • ideally, you will have experience with community-based conservation and development initiatives
  • reporting to the Head of Data Engineering, this is a full-time role with occasional travel to work closely with overseas colleagues, partners, field teams and communities
  • the successful candidate will be a motivated, proactive and highly organised individual with strong experience in developing interactive data visualisation tools in R Shiny specifically
  • we are looking for an individual who is open to new ideas and embraces innovation
  • these tools, designed by the Design and Integration team, aim to transform complex datasets into actionable insights, supporting data-driven decision-making at various levels
  • you will demonstrate a proven track record of presenting complex data in clear, accessible formats for both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as project design and management
