Responsibility
the home provides trauma informed care on a medium to long-term basis for children aged 5-12 on admission
to work in line with the organisations ethos and in adherence to policies and procedures at all times
the deputy manager must positively role model in the home at all times
the deputy manager is responsible for supporting the registered manager at all times with the day to day running of the home, within the boundaries and expectations set out in the job description
the deputy manager is responsible for ensuring that staff are supporting the young people in a manner which is in line with the organisation’s ethos, and is trauma informed
the deputy manager will be supported by the registered manager through purposeful supervision to identify any shortfalls in practice and act upon these accordingly
the deputy manager will engage in twice monthly supervisions whilst in the probation period, and monthly thereafter
the deputy manager has access to on call management at all times as this is a 24/7 expectation for the homes registered manager, and the company director/responsible individual
Education
GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
A relevant level 3 / 4 qualification and certificate in residential care of children and young people
willingness to work towards the Level 5 Leadership and Management of Residential Childcare
essential
strong communication skills
at least 36 months’ experience of working in residential children’s homes
strong administrative skills
at least two years working at senior level in residential children’s homes
strong organisational skills
