Responsibility

  • deputising for the Head Chef in their absence
  • assisting in the creation of the standard and specials menus
  • helping the Head Chef to develop the Kitchen team, ensuring that the highest standards of service are maintained at all time
  • adhering to all Health & Safety regulations, including compliance with all food hygiene regulations at all times
  • ordering stock as required and within budget
  • rotating stock effectively and minimising wastage
  • working with the Head Chef to ensure that the waiting on staff are able to advise customers on menu choices
  • coach and mentor less experienced members of the kitchen
