  • we are recruiting for an experienced HR professional who is passionate about talent, culture, and inclusive engagement practises to join BCUSU as our People & Culture Manager
  • you’ll be leading a small but effective team and will be responsible for leading the development of people initiatives and creating a positive culture for all staff members at BCUSU
  • with a focus on inspiring high performance yet in an environment that has wellbeing, diversity, inclusivity, and positive staff engagement at its core
  • experience in supporting managers handling employee relations matters is essential, along with a focus on HR policy development and delivery of the People Strategy priorities
  • all BCUSU staff play a role in student engagement and participating in delivering the wider mission and vision of the Students’ Union is essential
  • c. Develop and review the people and culture database and personnel files to ensure they are up to date and comply with any legal or data protection policies

Requirements

  • an experienced HR professional who is passionate about, talent, culture and inclusive engagement practices within a changing organisation - essential
  • demonstrable experience of identifying and delivering people initiatives that have improved business performance and/or people engagement - essential
  • experience in advising managers regarding employment law and employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and managing absence - essential
  • experienced people manager who achieves results by motivating and influencing - essential
  • knowledge of Health and Safety issues – Duty of Care principles and risk management - essential
  • experience of devising, delivering and evaluating training using contemporary training and development practices - essential
  • knowledge of Students’ Unions / Higher Education and/or charitable sector - Desirable
  • CIPD Qualification or equivalent professional qualification or comparable relevant work experience - essential
