Responsibility

  • bioliberty are a multi-award winning technology start up, developing rehabilitative robotic solutions, for those with stroke, hand trauma and degenerative diseases
  • we are developing our first product, LifeGlov, which is a soft robotic glove to assess hand mobility and perform resistance training for rehabilitation
  • bioliberty recently secured public and private funding to develop our technology including our recent top prize award at the prestigious Scottish Edge Round 20 and a £2.4m seed investment round, which brings total funding to £3.5m
  • we are working with some of the top rehabilitation clinics in the US to drive forward our technology adoption and deliver unparalleled patient outcomes from hospital to home

  • this role will be based in the National Robotarium, which is located on the Heriot-Watt Campus – a world leading centre for robotics and home of global leaders in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems
  • identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency and business improvement

Requirements

  • master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • medical device industry experience especially with healthcare robotics
  • knowledge of soft robotic technologies e.g. flexible polymers
  • determination and persistence – with an ‘anything is possible’ attitude
  • experience with designing pressure vessels
  • the ability to work to strict timelines
  • experience with designing plastic components
  • strong understanding of scalable manufacturing methods
