Responsibility
- we are looking for an experienced motor mechanic with the ability to service, repair and restore Vintage, Classic and American vehicles
- this is an exciting and varied opportunity to join our Vintage, Classic and American car restoration business based in Rickinghall, Suffolk
- the various aspects of the role will include general servicing of vehicles, reconditioning of engines, gearboxes, axle, and components
- modifications of vehicles to accept new ‘modern’ parts to upgrade the vehicle and driving experience
- the role requires you to have at least 5+ years of hands-on practical experience with older vehicles, proven ability to be able to be able to fault find and diagnose, to be able to work with manual machines to reproduce obsolete parts, and the ability to make fit reproduction parts
Requirements
- excellent communication skills, time management skills and a flexible approach to support ad hoc tasks
- consult with clients to understand their needs and requirements
- the ability to service and repair vehicles
- ability to prioritise and manage workload and multiple projects effectively at pace
- the ability to recondition components and parts
- work well within a small and dedicated team of car enthusiasts
- ability to balance workload and shift from project to project where delays in parts supply occur
- 5+ years of experience, ideally working on older vehicles
