  • plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of activities and events for residents in a care facility
  • develop and implement activity programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being
  • assess residents' interests, needs, and abilities to create personalized activity plans
  • lead group activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, and social events
  • coordinate outings and trips for residents to local attractions or community events
  • collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of activities
  • maintain records of resident participation and evaluate the effectiveness of programs

Requirements

  • previous experience working in a similar role in a care facility or related field is preferred
  • DBS check - This will be covered by the employer after successful completion of training
  • knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and techniques is a plus
  • day shift patterns are 8am – 2pm 2pm - 8pm
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members
  • some flexibility to do overtime when required
  • ability to plan and organize activities that cater to a diverse group of individuals with varying abilities and interests
  • understanding of the unique needs of elderly individuals or those with disabilities
