Responsibility
updating and managing records of all hired equipment across various UK sites
raising of purchase orders
carry out return on investment analysis based on potential future large equipment purchases
working under the Plant Manager, the role will be to provide support to the sourcing and coordination of all hired and purchased plant, tools & equipment
liaise with suppliers to check and confirm availability of equipment as per site requirements and where applicable or necessary source new suppliers for equipment
carry out evaluation of existing plant & equipment supply chain based on established criteria’s such as quality, reliability and timeliness of delivery, pricing
Requirements
sound knowledge across a range of equipment - ideally to have worked with in plant hire or plant procurement previously
work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
good understanding of supply chain procedures
good planning and organisational skills
good computer literacy – ideally to have worked with purchasing software previously
