communications officer
Responsibility
- to fully utilise digital and operational systems to capture activity and member data, supporting the production of reports and performance updates
- to ensure the BVA's communication channels reflect and support the organisation’s brand and are used consistently and effectively to deliver key messages and information
- to ensure that any required stakeholder feedback, performance and outcomes monitoring reports are completed in a timely manner
Requirements
- strong written and verbal skills
- familiarity with design software
- experience writing, producing and editing material for different target audiences

- experience generating marketing materials to specific objectives, and experience in managing a range of communications channels simultaneously
- experience using market research and evaluation tools and processes to support the development of communications activity
- good “news sense” and ability to identify a communications opportunity
- events management and exhibitions, & display experience, running stands and roadshows
- ability to work at a fast pace and to deadlines
- an understanding of the voluntary sector including how charities and non-profit organisations operate and the governance requirements surrounding them
- proven experience of effective management and use of web and social media
- good level of presentation skills and experience of speaking at events
- marketing: 1 year
- ability to work effectively with a mix of stakeholders
- good organisational skills and ability to work across multiple projects
- enthusiasm, “can do” attitude, self-motivation, creative thinking and determination to deliver results
