Responsibility
- our gardens are looked after all year round so you must love being outside in all weathers
- training needs will be looked at and implemented to grow your skills in the horticulture world
- these will include all areas of garden maintenance such as lawn moving/ maintenance, weeding, seasonal pruning of shrubs/plants/hedges, strimming/ hedge trimming, planting and leaf clearance
- we also carry out various garden projects and soft landscaping tasks which will give you a wealth of knowledge and variation in the role
- we also run NVQ in Horticulture to our Members that attend our garden therapy project, GreenFingers, where the garner will be based so the successful candidate will also use their skills to teach young adults with mild learning disabilities basic work experience
- you will need knowledge of plants and pruning techniques, familiarity in the use of gardening machinery such as trimmers, mowers, blowers and strimmers, and some horticultural knowledge and/or qualification
