Responsibility

  • babaji is on the lookout for an experienced and creative Head Chef to join our team
  • you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations of a busy kitchen ensuring presentation and quality is of the highest standards
  • we’re a new style of Indian dining restaurant celebrating the British Curries that the country has come to love
  • ensuring costs are being controlled and kept in line with budget
  • we’re located in the heart of Sunderland City Centre and will be opening in November
  • you will be responsible for recruitment, training, skills development and weekly rotas with job allocation
  • you will maintain strict controls around food hygiene legislation with a full understanding of food safety laws, ensuring adherence and compliance
  • assist restaurant manager with menu planning and development, crafting new ideas and dishes in line with Babaji’s vision

Requirements

  • you have a minimum of 3 years Kitchen management experience
  • you have a passion for food and hospitality
  • you have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of laws and legislation of a restaurant
  • you are able to lead, inspire and create a multi-talented team. You lead by example and create a motivating place to work and can get the best out of people
