Responsibility
- to provide a safe and happy home for the children
- empower the children with resilience and assist with trauma recovery
- basic daily housekeeping and household duties such as shopping
- to promote education, assist with homework and attend any meetings and school events
- to attend and supervise family contacts when required
- attend all necessary meetings and training
- to spend time playing with the children both at home and outside of the home on activities
- to be responsible for money and receipts given to them whilst on shift
Education
- GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
- level 3 qualification in Residential childcare or willingness to obtain this on the job
- good initiative and listening skills
- at least 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting or a similar environment is preferred but not essential
- A strong knowledge of Safeguarding and child trauma
- childcare: 1 year
