Responsibility
- establish, monitor and maintain network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- manage and maintain our estate of watchguard and fortigate appliances
- provide level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- monitor the networking environment ensuring resource utilisation, trending and capacity planning
- select and implement security tools, policies and procedures in conjunction with the Security Team and enforce system standards
- maximise performance by troubleshooting network problems, outages and scheduling upgrades
- configure and install various network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN
- work with established configurations and connections, adhering to change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Requirements
- proven hands-on network engineering experience
- proven hands-on windows and Linux experience
- CCNP or higher
- university degree in computer science or a related subject
- deep understanding of TCP/IP model
- working knowledge of WatchGuard and FortiGate Firewall configurations
- hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- previous experience designing and implementing new solutions and improving resilience across multi location infrastructures
