Responsibility

  • establish, monitor and maintain network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • manage and maintain our estate of watchguard and fortigate appliances
  • provide level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • monitor the networking environment ensuring resource utilisation, trending and capacity planning
  • select and implement security tools, policies and procedures in conjunction with the Security Team and enforce system standards
  • maximise performance by troubleshooting network problems, outages and scheduling upgrades
  • configure and install various network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN
  • work with established configurations and connections, adhering to change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

Requirements

  • proven hands-on network engineering experience
  • proven hands-on windows and Linux experience
  • CCNP or higher
  • university degree in computer science or a related subject
  • deep understanding of TCP/IP model
  • working knowledge of WatchGuard and FortiGate Firewall configurations
  • hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • previous experience designing and implementing new solutions and improving resilience across multi location infrastructures
