  • part-time | Contract

Requirements

  • preferably a UK qualified teacher with PGCE or equivalent
  • experience working with students with autism or other developmental disabilities
  • knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching and supporting students with autism
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and parents/guardians
  • the teacher may also be required to work in a variety of settings, including classroom, gymnasium, and outdoor environments
  • flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and student needs
  • patience, compassion, and empathy for working with students with special needs

Responsibility

  • the role is 4 days per week
  • provide one-on-one support to the student with autism in class and during activities
  • work closely with the TA and other professionals to implement the student’s Individualised Education Program
  • observe and document the student’s progress, behaviour, and academic achievements
  • implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to address the student’s challenging behaviours
  • provide assistance during transitions and changes in the student’s routine
  • adhere to policies and procedures related to student safety and confidentiality
