Requirements
- proven experience as a Grill Chef or a similar role in a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment
- strong knowledge of grilling techniques, temperatures and cooking times for various ingredients
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- excellent communication, time management and teamwork skills
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- the Grill Chef role may involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects and working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
Responsibility
- prepare and cook a wide range of grilled items with precision and attention to detail
- follow established recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain the consistency and quality of food
- monitor and manage inventory levels for related ingredients, notifying the manager when supplies need replenishing
- ensure the proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of grill/kitchen equipment to prevent accidents and prolong the lifespan of kitchen tools
- coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, maintaining a smooth workflow during peak dining hours
- you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to perfection, meeting the high standards of our restaurant and satisfying our customers' taste buds
- inspect the quality of ingredients and grilled dishes to ensure they meet our restaurant's standards for taste, texture and appearance
- collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine grill-related menu items, suggesting new ideas and improvements
Education
- high school diploma or equivalent
- culinary school or vocational training in culinary arts is a plus
- knowledge of food safety guidelines
