- keeping a task list and meeting regularly with your supervisors to discuss progression and for their input on matters arising
- we are looking for a paralegal, with preferably a minimum of 6 months of employment law experience to work within a team of four Solicitors
- to assist in the provision of administrative and legal services for clients
- work in accordance with our values as a firm
- to support a partner and senior associate in the provision of administrative and legal services for clients
- supporting the Head of Employment and other Solicitors in the team
- to assist where requested the provision of legal advice to clients, under supervision. Take notes in client meetings
- proactively following up on requests for records and other information as my have been requested by other members of the team
- comply with our professional conduct rules and regulations governing our practice
- to assist in the provision of administrative and legal services for clients, including file opening and client care procedures
- attend clients at hospitals, care homes and in their home
- arranging payments to clients and ensuring a system of payments of invoices and fee notes as appropriate
- read and attend training to ensure you are up to date with our area of law and practice
- complete legal and medical research where required
- assisting with tasks on contentious and non-contentious employment matter. Producing chronologies and taking notes of meetings
- make regular payments to clients and keep accurate schedules of these payments. Also forecast forward spending and creating of budgets
- ensuring that files and papers stored electronically are organised and accessible when needed
- draft relevant correspondence under the guidance of a fee-earner
- produce written correspondence, witness statements, tribunal applications and other documents as required
- day to day contact with clients and their individual lifestyle requirements
- to assist where requested the provision of legal advice to clients, under supervision
- manage professionally and confidentially, communications with clients, opponents and third parties
- manage professionally and confidentially, written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors and third parties
- dealing with new enquiries and general business development activities
- delegate and supervise tasks where appropriate
- work as a part of a team under the supervision of a partner of the firm
- drafting case studies and other marketing content
- preparing bundles of medical records and hearing bundles for Court both yourself and with the assistant of our business administration services team as appropriate
- work as a part of a team under the supervision of a Partner of the firm
- continue to develop your legal ability
- manage professionally and confidentially written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors, the court and other third parties as directed by the partner
- may also receive cases from several Partners and solicitors within the team
- provide an efficient and friendly service to our clients
- maintain client care standards as set out in the firm’s terms of business and office manual
Requirements
- degree in Law/CILEx or previous experience of working in a similar role
- degree in Law and previous experience of working in a Court of Protection role
- degree in Law or GDL and preferably SQE1, but not essential

- previous experience of working in a similar role also preferrable but not essential
- legal secretarial/legal personal assistant or similar experience will be considered
- LPC/SQE equivalent essential
- degree in Law and/or previous experience of working in a Court of Protection role
- 6 month plus experience of in an Employment Law Department is desirable
- previous experience of working as a Paralegal in organisations with an Employment Law department would be beneficial
