anderson Knight is looking to recruit an Underwriter on a full-time permanent basis for one of our clients based in Glasgow
you will be responsible for analysing financial data, conducting risk assessments, and making informed decisions to approve or decline applications
utilize underwriting guidelines to make sound decisions on loan applications or insurance policies
communicate effectively with loan officers, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to gather additional information or clarify application details
stay up-to-date with industry regulations, market trends, and underwriting standards
provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from clients and stakeholders
as an Underwriter at you will play a vital role in assessing and evaluating financial risks associated with various loan applications and insurance policies
maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and application details

Requirements

proven experience as an underwriter in the financial industry
strong analytical skills and attention to detail
excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
knowledge of financial markets, credit analysis, and underwriting principles
familiarity with relevant software and tools used in underwriting processes
ability to make well-informed decisions based on thorough analysis
time management skills and ability to handle a high volume of applications efficiently
