- improvements to staying updated on relevant regulations and internal policies
- ensuring group wide compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations in relation to the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- this will involve working collaboratively with key colleagues in operational finance, commercial finance, IT, central operations, and fee earners
- developing good working relationships with colleagues across the group to ensure we continue to embed a culture of SAR compliance but also, critically, the understanding of the rules
- providing group wide guidance and advice as needed on SAR queries
- providing regular internal one-to-one or group SAR training to a wide variety of colleagues, tailored as needed, to compliment external training
- preparing reports as required using breach register and other data points to demonstrate trends, provide updates on group wide compliance and progress on improvement actions being taken
- drafting, reviewing, and revising policies, procedures, and controls across the group to ensure they meet the requirements of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and are practical to allow continuing efficient day to day operations
Requirements
- ability to help progress and push forward improvements in the groups risk and compliance framework
- A natural flare for attention to detail
- COFA experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- dynamic self-starter who is technically astute, capable of problem solving and developing solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, credibility, and impact quickly with senior stakeholders
