Responsibility

  • amber Family has three residential family centres, located in Southport, Merseyside
  • we work in partnership with parents over the age of 16 to assess parenting capacity and undertake 12-week parenting assessments
  • at the end of the assessment period, a parenting assessment makes recommendations to assist Local Authorities with future care planning
  • amber Family has been running for almost 10 years and started with one setting
  • to manage all Key Workers and Support Workers ensuring that the highest level of professionalism and support is always provided
  • an opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager role, working within one of our Residential Family Centres in Southport
  • provide Designated Deputy Safeguarding Officer support to Amber Family’s DSO and undertake duties as outlined in the relevant Safeguarding Children Policies
  • to manage the day to day running of the Residential Family Centre, adhering to the National Minimum Standards for Residential Family Centres and The Residential Family Centre Regulations 2002

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent

Requirements

  • direct staff management experience – At least one year
  • at least one year of direct staff management experience
  • some prior experience of working within a residential setting, i.e. care home, children's home, residential family centre
  • commitment to undertaking a Social Work qualification, or equivalent, once Level 5 is completed, if not already achieved
  • commitment to ongoing professional development
  • commitment to enrol on the Level 5 leadership for Social Care qualification, fully funded by Amber Family, within 3 months of undertaking the role if this is not already achieved
  • commitment to enrol on the Level 5 leadership for Social Care qualification, within 3 months of undertaking the role if this is not already achieved

Responsibility

  • development of continuous strategy around parent specific learning and development of new parenting courses
  • to assist the business with day-to-day activities and running of the training and interventions programme across the business to both families and the workforce
  • to participate in the ethos of a skilled professional team, attending and participating in team meetings, regular supervision meetings
  • to support the Strategic Business and Training Manager to promote Amber Family training provision to external professionals with a view to enhancing Amber Family’s presence both in the community, and with other providers
  • to work in partnership with colleagues, stakeholders and outside agencies and other parenting organisations
  • to support parents and families during their time at Amber Family by providing emotional and practical support and guidance to assist them to care for their child
  • working with the Families Development Team, carry out specific tasks unique to your role, ensuring that all families residing at Amber Family receive a consistent level of support
  • understand Amber Family policies and procedures as well as relevant Government guidelines, legislation and best practice, paying particular attention to Child Protection, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, anti-discriminatory and health and safety policies
