- ensuring that the Trust Commercial reporting is accurately reflected within the Trust overall financial reporting
- playing a key leadership role in leading the annual business planning round, providing high quality costing, budgetary and activity management information

- champion innovation throughout the organisation, keeping up with best practice and own personal development
- support the development of costing and pricing methodologies for new programmes and other new initiatives
- championing change and consistently delivering improved financial performance
- support the creation of detailed budget estimates for your service areas ensuring these are aligned to the published MTFP
- to contribute to a culture within BHE which is motivational, fosters excellent performance, innovation and trust amongst staff
- supporting the annual budget process including liaison with departments and Finance Director
- providing advice and guidance on all finance related issues and appropriate challenge to inform business decision making
- provide monthly management reporting and commentary, leading monthly business reviews to communicate understanding of overall financial performance
- determine which proposals require full business cases, and lead on the finance input to those cases
- the successful candidate will either be a fully qualified accountant or working towards the final stages of their professional qualifications
- identify savings and ensure financial strategy is delivered
- developing savings proposals to support corporate objectives
- analysis of long term development impacts
- respond to consultations and assess the financial impact of new legislation as required
- this includes utilising key internal business systems and external data sources
- provide input into the financial development of fundraising proposals
- developing accurate and robust financial plans which reflect the Divisions Business Plan
