Responsibility
- to assist service users with all personal care needs including, dressing/undressing, washing, bathing and toileting needs
- to make and change beds and some reasonable domestic tasks within the household
- where required, to assist with service user’s laundry, including using a laundrette where necessary
- to read and write reports and take part in staff and service users’ meetings and in training activities as directed
- to perform such other duties as may reasonably be required
- to assist service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use and care of aids and personal equipment
- to engage in the promotion of mental and physical wellbeing of service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations
- to report to the registered manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a service user
Requirements
- at least 3 months carer exprience
- possess strong interpersonal and empathy skills
- approachable attitude
- ability to work as part of a team and individually. Ability to prioritise and plan around customer needs
- willingness to work flexibly and to keep knowledge and skills up to date
- creates an environment where customers feel able to participate and contributes ideas
