Requirements
good standard of education
ideally hold an AAT , or equivalent
strong post-qualification experience working in a similar role
excellent working knowledge of computerised finance & other systems, including MS Office, payroll & accounting packages
significant experience of managing finance and payroll
solid experience in the development of complex budgets, working with financial procedures and drafting financial policies
good knowledge and experience of Charity Accounting SORP, HMRC and other statutory regulations and reporting requirements/returns
knowledge of financial controls, charity and company law in relation to statutory accounts and reporting
Responsibility
to liaise with CASEwork, as our finance function provider, as their key point of contact at Age UK Somerset
our Finance Manager will act as the key finance advisor to the CEO and Board of Trustees, so budget preparation, reporting and forecasting as well as monitoring and advising on financial controls and policies to ensure compliance will be key
