Responsibility

  • install a wide range of passive fire protection systems, including fire-resistant sealants, wraps, collars, cavity barriers, and boards
  • conduct detailed inspections and assessments of existing fire-stopping installations, undertaking remedial work where required
  • ensure all installations comply with current fire safety legislation, manufacturers’ specifications, and industry best practice
  • maintain accurate digital records of completed works, materials used, and locations via handheld devices or software systems
  • capture photographic evidence of installations for reporting and compliance verification
  • carry out routine quality checks and fire integrity inspections across various sites
  • act as the primary point of contact for site-based issues, liaising with clients, contractors, and project managers as needed
  • plan daily workloads, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor progress to ensure delivery targets are met

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Fire Stopping or Passive Fire Protection
  • demonstrable experience in fire-stopping installation and inspection across a range of settings
  • confident in the use of both hand and power tools, with the ability to install fire-stopping materials to exact specifications
  • excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and problem-solving approach to tasks
  • proven leadership skills, including team supervision, performance management, and project coordination
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with team members and clients alike
  • full understanding of health and safety practices, with a proactive attitude towards maintaining safe working environments
  • commitment to continuous improvement and upholding the highest standards of workmanship and compliance
