Responsibility

  • measure, cut, bend, punch and assemble busbars for low and medium voltage switchgear and related assemblies
  • interpret engineering/technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions to fabricate high-quality busbar systems to specification
  • operate fabrication machinery and hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient use at all times
  • form busbars to precise dimensions and tolerances for bespoke electrical distribution equipment
  • install insulation, fit fixings and supports, and ensure all assemblies meet electrical and mechanical safety requirements
  • collaborate with design engineers, panel builders, and quality teams to deliver integrated solutions on time and to specification

Requirements

Responsibility

  • your day will be spent as part of an estimating/contracts engineering team, liaising with the shop floor, projects team and customers
  • you will be required to interpret line diagrams and written specifications to produce a quotation to send to our customers
  • full training will be provided for the specifics, but a working knowledge of LV electrical systems is essential for the role
  • assume responsibility for the project and tenders in terms of financial performance, deadline compliance and technical performance of the work
  • responsible for the management of projects under their authority, covering all activities
  • organises bid and contract reviews whilst monitoring changes in the contract performance

  • previous qualifications/coding's in 6G/equivalent
