Responsibility
- support Worker is responsible for the maintenance of the client’s physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social well-being
- assist client with maintenance of personal care such as washing, bathing/showering, dressing and toileting where necessary
- assist with domestic tasks such as laundry and housework
- maintain own safety and that of the client at all times
- assist the client with intellectual stimulation such as reading, playing games or simply chatting with them
- main priority is to assist and encourage the client to live as independently and autonomously as possible within the framework of a caring environment, whilst maintaining professional boundaries
- report any physical, mental or social changes whether advised or observed
- assist and encourage participation in preparation of meals in a safe and hygienic environment, taking into account clients likes and dislikes
