Responsibility
- perform bricklaying and masonry work according to construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- prepare and set up the worksite by assessing materials, determining layout, and establishing guidelines for proper alignment and levelling
- lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry units using mortar or other adhesives
- measure and cut bricks and other materials to ensure proper fit and alignment
- ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and take necessary precautions to maintain a safe working environment
- interpret construction plans and drawings to accurately execute bricklaying tasks, including the installation of brick walls, partitions, arches, and other structures
- maintain and repair existing brickwork, including repointing, replacing damaged bricks, and restoring structural integrity
- keep accurate records of materials used, work progress, and time spent on each project
Requirements
- proven experience as a Bricklayer in the construction industry
- proficient knowledge of bricklaying techniques, methods, and materials
- ability to interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction field
- excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on project requirements
- strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks
