Responsibility
- exciting opportunity to join a fast growing commercial vehicle and trailer manufacturing Company based near Chesterfield, Derbyshire
- we design and manufacture a wide range of trailers, platform, curtainsider and box bodies
- we carry out a range of conversions to commercial trucks including wheelbase extension and reductions, fitting additional axles and towing equipment
- project assessment and review of customer requirements including technical support for sales
- supplying Major Fleet operators, Truck manufacturers and Contract Hire companies
- project design to ensure customer requirements are converted into effective design solutions
- we are looking for increased design capacity
- creation of bills of materials including standard and non-standard parts
Requirements
- mechanical or Production Engineering background to a minimum of HNC level
- experience with Structural Steel, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Electrical circuits
- experience with Electronics PLC’s would be an advantage but not essential
- broad design and draughting experience in mechanical engineering using AutoCAD and Solidworks software
- experience of and ability to work to tight project deadlines
- experience in any of the following fields, coachbuilding, chassis or commercial vehicle bodywork design, trailer chassis or demountable systems preferred
- good communication skills and the ability to liaise with both internal and external contacts
