Responsibility

  • you may be required to perform other duties and responsibilities from time to time appropriate to the post other than those above
  • ensure Health and Safety Policies and fully implemented and followed
  • report and record any incidents or accidents in the nursery
  • ensure all insurance is in place
  • implement any recommendations following regulatory inspections
  • fire drills carried out
  • hold regular staff meetings
  • manage the security for the nursery, ensuring always fully operational and used correctly by staff

Responsibility

  • to have an understanding and knowledge of the EYFS
  • to help plan and implement a programme of activities suitable to the age range of the children in your area
  • to work alongside other staff in your room
  • to share ideas, skills and knowledge with team members throughout the nursery
  • to help contribute to an organising, planning & evaluating activities
  • to observe the children and plan next steps for them
  • to attend all out of hours meetings and training, for e.g. monthly staff meeting
  • be aware of children’s needs and show empathy and care, and to provide them with a sense of security and stability

Responsibility

  • prepare the children's records in your group and institute reviews for parents, in conjunction with the Manager
  • work alongside children and their families in line with any additional needs and liaise with the SENCO and outside agencies
  • support all staff and engage in a good staff team
  • undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, for example, preparation of snacks, serving meals and cleansing of equipment
  • attend out of working hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, parent's evenings, summer fayre and Christmas events
  • provide first aid if required and record any accidents/incidents using the correct documentation
  • formulate and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children attending the Nursery in conjunction with the Manager
  • to respect the confidentiality of information received in line with regulations

Requirements

  • qualified to NVQ Level 3 in childcare
  • one years' experience within childcare sector, specifically in caring for children aged between three months and 18 months old
