Working hours
- full-time
Responsibility
- we work in a number of sectors including education, healthcare, leisure, ecclesiastical and small works
- this can be new build, refurbishment and alterations as well as design and build projects in both residential and commercial settings
- take the lead on assigned tenders; analyse and interpret information given to accurately determine the scope of the project
- prepare subcontract tender packages and thoroughly adjudicate returns
- accurately complete take-offs
- conduct occasional site visits, identifying any potential issues that may affect the estimation process
- A Hammond & Sons Ltd are a well-established building contractor based in North Dorset with a wide operating area in the Southwest. Approaching our 100thyear of trading we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Estimator to join our team
- apply relevant industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance throughout the estimation process
Education
- diploma of Higher Education
Requirements
- ideally at least 5 years’ experience of preparing and submitting tenders
- pricing projects up to £10m
- ability to work under your own initiative, have excellent organisational skills, successfully manage workload to achieve tender return dates
- good communication and negotiating skills
- ideally some knowledge of planning and presentation
- holder of full UK driving licence
- possess a sound knowledge of building construction techniques with preferably a relevant degree, HNC / HND or similar qualification and site knowledge
