- working to Court and Fostering Panel directed deadlines whilst ensuring the highest quality of assessment
- working with parents / carers to strengthen protective factors and reduce risks to the child’s welfare
- completing assessments and analytical report writing
- undertaking section 47 investigations
- working directly with family members providing advice and guidance
- participate in the MASH Multi-Agency risk assessment to inform case management, advising where necessary and challenging decisions
- undertaking placement of children into Local Authority care, when it is agreed they can no longer remain at home
- applying relevant legislation and guidance
- attending and participating in multidisciplinary teams and meeting
- working with a diverse caseload, seeking support where required to meet workload deadlines
- carrying out pre-birth assessments and covers all aspects of planning
- you will be the first point of contact from referral for vulnerable children, young people and their families
- completing kinship assessments and your role will include completing Initial Viability Assessments , Special Guardianship Order Assessments for Court and Connected Persons Assessments for Fostering Panel
- working with young people and families to assess needs and plan for the young person to have a successful transition into adult life
- providing reliable effective social work help and intervention to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in need so that children maintain a reasonable standard of health and development, receive reasonable parenting, and have a sense of permanence
- undertaking work with minimal guidance, evidencing ability to act effectively as a case manager and undertake work where there is multiple agency involvement
- visiting children and families in their homes, and complete assessments of their needs and risks. You’ll co-ordinate referrals, devise care plans and produce clear reports
- providing high quality and effective social work service to respond to the needs of the children and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines
- participating in the MASH multi agency risk assessment to inform case management, advising where necessary and challenging decisions where ‘ appropriate
- working with a range of legal interventions and departmental policies and procedures to support outcome-based planning for adults
- carrying out full assessments of an applicant’s suitability to foster
- 2 years post Qualified Social Work experience in Children’s Services
- 3 years post Qualified Social Work experience
