Responsibility
- responsible for the daily running of the kitchen in the ASPACE 2 Eglinton
- the post holder, as part of the team , will support/coach people with learning disabilities and learning difficulties to learn and develop cooking and serving skills and support those undertaking accredited NVQ Level 1 and Level 2 training
- daily duties will include food/meal preparation, sandwich making, taking full responsibility for the cleaning of the kitchen, and ensuring food is cooked and served according to high-quality standards
- washing dishes when required, Monitoring stock take and stock rotation, and taking deliveries support the Management in all aspects of the kitchen work
- responsible for following all quality standards and legal requirements with respect to Excellent standards of customer service, hygiene, environmental health and health and safety
- keep up to date with all food items served in the kitchen, allergens and ingredients
- assist in stock taking and storage of stock, re-stock fridges including checking deliveries
- to provide a high level of food preparation service. Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting, cooking foodstuffs and preparing main courses, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Preparation of set meals for group bookings
Requirements
- NVQ level 2/3 in food preparation and cookery or equivalent qualification
- level 2 Award in Food Safety or equivalent qualification
- valid driving license
- essential
- previous experience of cooking and food preparation
- understanding of health and safety requirements
- significant knowledge and understanding of "safer food better business."
- 2 years experience working as a cook/experienced food handler in a catering environment
