- the College Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all college users and protecting college facilities. They will perform a range of duties related to security, safety, and student well-being
- 1.Patrol and Security: Conduct regular patrols of the college grounds and buildings to provide a visible and reassuring security presence
- 3.Smoking Control: Enforce a no-smoking policy on-site, except within designated smoking areas, and discourage students from smoking near the college gates
- 4.Search Protocol: Be available to perform searches on students for prohibited items in accordance with the college’s search protocol
- 5.ID Badge Compliance: Ensure that students and staff always wear ID badges
- 7.Maintenance Reporting: Report cleaning or maintenance issues to the Estates team for prompt attention
Requirements
- previous experience in a security-related role is preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures is a plus
- familiarity with CCTV systems and basic computer skills
- commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive college environment
