  • prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives
  • lay tiles according to design plans and specifications, ensuring proper placement and adherence
  • use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations efficiently
  • apply grout between tiles after installation, ensuring a neat finish
  • collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of tile work with other construction elements
  • maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the installation process
  • conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets industry standards

Requirements

  • proven experience as a Tile Setter or in a similar role within the construction industry
  • proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels
  • familiarity with power tools commonly used in tile installation
  • ability to read and interpret schematics and design plans accurately
  • strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
  • previous experience in carpentry or related fields is advantageous but not essential
  • good physical stamina as the role involves standing for long periods and lifting materials when necessary
  • excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
