Responsibility

• emptying all bins and ensuring all paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers and toilet role holders are stocked
• emptying all bins and ensuring bathrooms and other work areas are stocked with soap and paper supplies etc
• ensure all the site walkways and fire extinguishers are clear of obstructions

• weekly vehicle safety checks including ensuring they are clean inside and out

• ensure vehicles are roadworthy, serviced and MOT’ed
• assisting with fire alarm testing
• carry out small DIY jobs on site as necessary

• carry out regular fire alarm tests and drills in accordance with Workaid’s Fire Safety Policy and Fire Safety, Emergency Testing and Evacuation Drills Procedure
• ensure larger items of tools and equipment are taken to the packing area when ready
• help unload the vans of donated tools and equipment as and when necessary
• undertake any other duties or tasks that occur that are appropriate and are deemed necessary for the successful running of the charity as determined by the Office Supervisor, Volunteer Co-ordinator or CEO
• if defects are found, either carry out repairs / maintenance or if necessary refer to the Office Supervisor to arrange remedial action

Requirements

• must be a practical person, experience gained through their day to day work or through keen DIY interests
• able to use their practical knowledge and skills to identify and carry out simple repairs and maintenance tasks to the site
