Responsibility

  • wheelbarrow are seeking a labourer/trainee landscaper to assist the landscaping team on garden build projects throughout Cornwall
  • please provide a covering letter with your CV
  • initially joining the team as a labourer, examples of the duties you would be expected to carry out would include getting materials into and around the garden, ensuring the team are supplied with the required materials throughout the build, preparing mortar and keeping the site clean & tidy
  • as you progress within the labouring role, you would be given more responsibilities along with further on site training allowing your role to develop into that of a trainee landscaper
  • as a trainee landscaper you would gain further knowledge and understanding of the wide variety of skillsets required to be a landscaper and be taught these skills to enable you carry out tasks such as laying paving, walling, decking, and planting
  • experience is preferable but not essential as onsite training will be provided. Candidates should be hard working, polite, punctual, be able to follow instruction and have their own transport
  • please note this is not a temporary or gardening position, this is a role for someone who is looking to build a career in the landscape construction industry and progress within the company

Requirements

  • A horticultural industry qualification
  • knowledge of garden maintenance techniques
  • proficiency in operating power tools such as lawnmowers and trimmers
  • familiarity with hand tools used in gardening tasks
  • understanding of plant growth and care with a good plant knowledge
  • ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
