Responsibility

  • managing traffic movements around the yard and in the tipping sheds
  • assessing waste being tipped and communicating back to the office by two-way radio
  • challenging Drivers and unauthorised personnel not adhering to site rules
  • keeping the tipping area clean and clear of debris to prevent unnecessary tyre punctures
  • abide by all health & safety rules
  • adherence to site operational standards
  • the right person will have previous experience in the waste industry. The successful candidate must have experience in traffic management as a banksman and the ability to work under pressure
  • comply with all company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • traffic Management as a Vehicle Banksman - minimum 2 years
  • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent qualification
  • vehicle Banksman: 2 years

  • westminster Waste Ltd are a growing recycling company based in Charlton, South East London and are currenlty looking to recruit reliable candidates living within a commutable distance from our operating centre to join our team
  • you must be flexible with the ablity to learn and will be servicing our cilent base in London and the surrounding areas collecting non-hazardous waste to return to our facility for recycling
  • working as part of a team and supporting your colleagues
  • remaining professional at all times
  • driving within the Highway Code and Road Traffic Act at all times

Requirements

  • excellent communication and customer-based skills with the ability to work safely under pressure
  • demonstrate a positive ‘can-do’ attitude while having a flexible approach to he/hers workload
  • class 1&2 driving licence
  • have a good knowledge of Tachograph Regulations
  • HGV experience an advantage
  • the ability to carry out walkaround checks and identify vehicle defects
  • have no major endorsements on your licence
  • ability to concentrate for long periods of time whilst driving
