We have been restructuring our Manufacturing (Production and Packing) operations here at Burton Latimer and introduced a different leadership team. As a result, we’re introducing this new opportunity for our Burton Latimer site for an experienced operational perfectionist to come and help us ensure we can continue to feed the nation and employ local people for the future, by driving continuous improvement to future proof our equipment, processes and people operations. The role is focussed on standards which is core to the modus operandi. The role will oversee a ‘cluster’ of our manufacturing plants/facilities, and will have leadership accountability for the multi-functional teams in them; as well as the standard performance and improvement objectives you’d expect for such a pivotal role. What you will do Lead all elements of the manufacturing process, in line with agreed practices, to ensure that plants run to required capability and capacity and the production plan is delivered reliably and profitably and developed in line with the manufacturing strategy. Energy & Utilities Manager (Engineering) Burton Latimer
Reporting to Head of Engineering We are backfilling a role within our Engineering team for an Energy and Utilities Manager. Although you will be working in an extended team, this is a specialist, stand-alone role accountable for the safe and efficient production and distribution of energy on site and the Lead for our energy consumption and reduction initiatives. There are lots of opportunities to develop within the Engineering team and we are therefore looking for someone with excellent Engineering skills, bags of potential, motivation, ambition and drive to support and improve our performance through BAU and various cost and energy saving projects to ensure we are compliant with legislation, sustainability and environmental targets. What you will do Develop, coordinate and implement strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption and spend across the Weetabix estate. Liaise and negotiate with external contractors, council services and other relevant organisations. (Jacobs, TEBL) for performance and best value. Manage the optimum times to import or generate electricity for the Burton Latimer site. Manage the CHP plant to keep it at optimum performance. Deliver energy per tonne data to the Business and actively advise/implement on where savings can be made. Carry out site inspections and energy surveys. Benchmark energy consumptions against best practice guidelines. Manage all elements with legislation such as the EU Emissions Trading, CHPQA and CCA and keep Weetabix Food Company up to date with any changes. Liaise and instruct third party contractors who manage oven burners, gas generators, compressors etc. to drive energy reduction as part of their KPIs. Manage the assets associated with energy reading and monitoring. Plan and manage the maintenance and capital plan for CHP Keep accurate records and regularly collect energy monitoring data.
