Responsibility

  • provide direct patient care
  • administer medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
  • assess patient's condition and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records
  • provide education to patients and families about health maintenance and disease prevention
  • monitor, record, and communicate changes in patient's condition and respond as appropriate to the needs of the patient and family
  • adhere to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other governmental regulations
  • use good judgement when dealing with patients, visitors, families, and co-workers
