Responsibility

  • A Sound Supervisor will work on television studio based productions - predominately News
  • mix sound sources, monitor outputs, adjust levels and ensure overall sound quality
  • balance the creative requirements of the Director with the technical capabilities of the available equipment
  • the Sound Supervisor will be responsible for the delivery of sound and communications
  • monitor the safety and effectiveness of all sound equipment throughout each production
  • solve any technical problems which arise before or during sound recording, troubleshooting where necessary

Requirements

  • extensive knowledge of modern sound systems and equipment
  • outstanding ability to find and repair faults, specifically in relation to sound
  • possess a high level of organisational skills and show attention to detail
  • be patient, self-disciplined and reliable
  • understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • demonstrate experience in broadcast sound, particularly as a Sound Supervisor
  • A proven track record of delivering high quality sound output in a live television studio environment
  • have in-depth, hands on experience of all aspects of the capture, recording, mixing and amplification of sound
