Consultant Project Engineer - Soldier Systems Cheltenham
Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) has an opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join an Integrated Product Team developing wearable technology for soldier systems. You will be the primary day-to-day engineering lead, undertaking hands-on technical work as well as supervising the technical activities of other engineers working across the programme. As the engineering lead you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple engineering development streams across the soldier system portfolio. These streams will have competing demands on resources and as the Lead Engineer you will balance these demands to achieve an optimum outcome. Using you experience you will periodically review the wider portfolio and rebalance workload as appropriate. Act as a Systems Engineer for a project delivery, undertaking activities such as requirement management and development of system engineering artefacts. Undertake Requirement Management activity using appropriate tools. Develop Systems Engineering artefacts as outlined by ISO 15288. Contribute to Design reviews and present Systems Engineering material. Ensure quality is maintained across all deliverables. Any other duties as and when required. This role has been assessed as outside of IR35. Experience of working with System engineering processes. Experience of deriving Requirements for complex systems. Experience of developing Design Documents and System Architecture Models. Experience of managing Requirements, compliance evidence and familiarity with VVRM or VCRI. Experience of designing system solution using the logical and physical architectures. Some experience within Communication, Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), Electromagnetic Spectrum, or Radar domains would be desirable. Experience of delivering technical presentation of wider technical audience. Experience of system safety would be desirable. Experience of using tools such as DOORS, JAMA, Sparx-EA and Visio Ideally have 4+ years of experience as systems engineer.
