• you’ll become an important part of our lifestyles team when you join Bridge House Care Home in as our Hairdresser. We are looking for someone who can also provide some flexibility as you could be asked to come to the home on any day of the week

Responsibility

• provide care and support to clients in their homes
• administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
• assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing

• to walk the home daily, identify any problems and carry out specific maintenance and regular safety checks, including weekly fire equipment, lift and tests, keeping accurate, up to date records of the checks
• to maintain the grounds, garden areas and fire access, keeping them in neat and tidy condition
• to inspect the plant room , as well as the dishwashers, clothes dryers, etc and report any deficiencies
• to respect residents at all times, especially their individual right to privacy, dignity and choice, incorporating residents’ needs and requirements into your work routine so that The home is pleasant to both live and work
• to liaise with the Home Manager ensuring the Care Home is maintained in good decorative order, the home environment is comfortable, friendly and has a ‘homely’ feel for the Residents
• to ensure the correct uniform and person protection equipment are worn
• drive the chauffer driven car when requested and ensure that its checked and well maintained at all times
• to liaise with external contractors entering the Home when carrying out authorised work to ensure that all requirements relating to Health and Safety and the Care Standards Act legislation are fully met
• maintain a work order log/system to be able to track repairs and outstanding work within the Home
• participate in the emergency and disaster plans for the home

Requirements

• experience in Maintenance and gardening
• computer skills essential
• basic numeracy and good record keeping skills
