Responsibility
- serve as an external communications contact for The Athletic
- create and implement communications plans that raise the profile of our business and journalism
- write press releases, blog posts and statements
- coordinate interview requests for The Athletic journalists and business leaders
- pitch trade and consumer stories for The Athletic projects and product and campaign launches
- help with social media outreach and promotion
- monitor, evaluate and improve the performance of our PR & communications on target audiences
- oversee Broadcast day and media outreach with key talent for upcoming campaign launches
Requirements
- minimum of five years of experience in a media, product or technology communications role
- proven media relations experience and results
- collaborative and able to work with a variety of teams and subject-matter experts
- able to translate complex topics into clear language
- experience with digital media
- good project management skills
- attentive to details
- strong written and communication skills
