Responsibility

  • this role involves the following duties & responsibilities
  • to comply with all Health and Safety regulations including Food Hygiene and C.O.S.H.H. regulations and ensuring compliance from all kitchen staff
  • to provide residents with nutritious meals on a daily basis
  • to meet residents dietary requirements as necessary
  • to ensure all kitchen equipment is working at a safe and efficient level of functioning, reporting to Manager any shortfalls
  • to ensure cleanliness in the Kitchen area at all times and undertake deep cleans of the Kitchen and all food preparation and storage areas on a regular basis
  • to attend and partake in staff meetings
  • \*To Wash up after meals with the assistance of the Kitchen Assistant , ensuring all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall Kitchen are is Kept Clean at all times

  • undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional and regulatory requirements
  • be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
  • ensure that the people we support are at the heart of our practice and their wishes and preferences are promoted to enhance their wellbeing
  • undertake the care planning activities for the people we support to meet changing physical, psychological and social needs, taking into consideration privacy, dignity, personal choice and informed consent
  • ensure care plans are developed in collaboration with individuals, their families and friends and members of the multidisciplinary team

Requirements

  • minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting, preferably within a nursing home
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • must have a valid NMC pin with no restrictions
  • strong clinical and person-centric skills
  • ability to work effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • proficient in care techniques, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation
  • strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • proficient with safe systems of medication administration and management
