• stop Domestic Abuse is a trauma informed organisation, the work we do to support those effected by domestic abuse may be triggering for those with past trauma
• workers should be “violence free in their own lives.” Applicants are asked not to put themselves forward for selection if this is not the case.
• the post-holder will work to empower and support all victims and survivors of domestic abuse to make positive choices
• to participate in Stop Domestic Abuse’s “Front Door Service” providing initial advice/information/guidance to victims/perpetrators/professionals/family members
• to participate in the delivery of the on-call out of hours service on a rota basis
• to provide support, advice and assistance to women, men and their families who have experienced domestic abuse or are at risk of domestic abuse
• it is essential that the post holder has a driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
• the post-holder will coordinate providing enhanced security at client’s homes across Fareham, Gosport and Havant through “target hardening” of the property and the provision of safety equipment
• the work will focus on preventing domestic abuse by providing support and facilitating safe space for victims and survivors of domestic abuse and peer support networks in the community and supporting women and men to keep safe in and maintain their current or new accommodation
• the post-holder will be community based, with families who have moved out of the refuge, women and men who make contact via Stop Domestic Abuse’s “Front Door Service” or are referred from other agencies
• to assess patients risk, provide immediate safety advice and support and make referrals to the most appropriate services
• to empower young people to make safe choices and to develop an individual safety and support plans
• this exciting project will deliver Up2U: Creating Healthy Relationships, designed to facilitate those using abusive behaviours to recognise and manage emotions and thoughts, develop healthier relationships and develop skills to manage difficult situations and relationships
• IDVAs work with survivors and other agencies and monitor the care and support pathways, with a client-centred and individualised approach
• the post-holder will coordinate providing enhanced security at client’s homes through “target hardening” of the property and the provision of safety equipment
