shrewsbury Prison Restaurant is delighted to announce an exciting new opportunity for a Head Cook to join our team
take charge of running the restaurant kitchen, overseeing all aspects of food preparation and service
our café-style restaurant is open 7 days a week, 10am-5pm
manage stock control, ensuring efficient inventory management and minimizing waste
this position is 32 hours per week and a salary of £20,000.00
maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, adhering to regulations and implementing best practices
collaborate with management in developing menus and pricing strategies to meet customer expectations and financial goals
provide support in training and developing the catering assistants, fostering their growth and maintaining a positive team dynamic

minimum of 2 years of commercial kitchen experience, showcasing your expertise and proficiency in culinary techniques

ensuring toilet facilities are always adequately clean, including replenishing essential items
sweeping and mopping floors and cells as required
supporting the cleanliness of interactive spaces
dusting, disinfecting and polishing surfaces, bars, desks and tables
cleaning communal staff areas and staff offices
managing the stock and storage of cleaning items

completing Employee Performance and Development reviews with managers, and working with managers to ensure all staff complete the reviews quarterly
managing the delivery of the products & services on offer
ensuring all customer service standards are met
completing purchase orders and invoices, as well as weekly banking
ensuring all fire related documents are reviewed and adhered to
ensuring all weekly, monthly, and annual inspections are completed
