Responsibility

  • the Shingler Group is looking to recruit an experienced Architectural Technologist/Technician to join our expanding in house design team
  • the business will provide support and training necessary to assist the successful candidates develop the skills associated with this challenging role
  • based in Shropshire, the Shingler Group is a family-owned company based in the heart of Shropshire with over 25 years of experience and a reputation for quality and reliability
  • this wide-ranging role represents a fantastic opportunity for ambitious Architectural Technologist/Technicians to further their career, working on projects in the residential sector, on bespoke one-off residential properties through to larger strategic sites along with projects in the commercial and education sector
  • the successful candidates will play a vital role in the delivery of our development pipeline and will join a small team that provide a wide range of technical support to the business including the development of the standard house type designs and specifications, the supervision of external professionals who input into planning and technical approvals, co-ordination of engineering and services information, the management of planning and building regulations submissions as well as supporting construction through the delivery process
  • production and maintenance of drawing registers

Requirements

  • knowledge of local and national planning policies
  • thorough knowledge of current Building Regulations
  • knowledge of NHBC/LABC Warranty Standards
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to multi-task, identify priorities and proactively deal with issues
  • degree or HND/C in Architectural Technology . Applications will be considered from applicants without a Degree or HND if they have extensive experience
  • self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision, and able to work effectively as part of a team
