Responsibility

• we are searching for chefs to join our team at our Croydon location
• we are looking for passionate and motivated individuals that want to create great food and service
• chefs plan menus and prepare, or oversee the preparation of food in hotels, restaurants, clubs, private households and other establishments

• prepare all dishes, plating, and menus
• we are a growing restaurant group with a great team of individuals that are looking to grow with us
• oversee the kitchen staff's work, including the hiring of new cooks and line cooks
• maintain a positive attitude and ensure that all staff members are following recipes, prep lists, and serving orders
• ensure that proper sanitation procedures are followed at all times
• ensure that all areas in the kitchen are kept clean and sanitized at all times

• work with the Executive Chef to ensure that all food is prepared to the chef's specifications and that proper plating is used in service
• assist with cleaning up after meals and help with waste reduction programs
• requisitions or purchases and examines foodstuffs from suppliers to ensure quality

Requirements

• must be able to read recipes and follow instructions precisely
• must be able to work in a team environment
• must be organized, punctual, and have a great attitude

• must be able to work weekends, holidays, and nights
• there are no formal academic requirements
• training is provided off- and on-the-job
• NVQs/ SVQs, BTEC Certificates and Diplomas and foundation degrees are available
• apprenticeships leading to an NVQ/SVQ at Level 3 are also available
• courses are also run by private cookery schools
• chef: 1 year
• cooking: 1 year
